Venue Rules

Note: This venue has no opening schedule, keep an eye out in party finder or for an opening ping in the Discord.

1. Please be polite to staff and other players. Remember that there are people behind the screen. If someone is making you even slightly uncomfortable OOC, please contact me via Discord DMs or in game (IGN: Victor Cadieux)2. This is a SFW venue. Keep conversations PG-13 during opening hours. This is a place where children frequent in-character. Please behave appropriately. (Foul language is fine so long as it isn't overtly sexual, the owner swears like a sailor)
Outside of opening hours, talk about whatever you like, but please be respectful of other players in the space at all times
3. IC actions have IC consequences. Starting a fight? Getting hostile? Prepare to get kicked out. This is a soup kitchen, not a bar, and the guy who runs the kitchen doesn't mess around when it comes to the people he's taking care of.4. OOC actions have OOC consequences. If you continue to behave inappropriately after being warned, you will be barred. If you behave super inappropriately, you will be barred without warning. If you come here just to troll or run around being disruptive, you're getting barred too.
5. Bigots and bigoted behaviour and language will not be tolerated. Racism, LGBT-phobia-- I don't need to make a list because you know who you are. You're not welcome here, you never will be. This also goes for lalafell lewd-ers.6. Please keep lore-breaking characters out of the venue, it can be difficult to RP around and immersion-breaking for a lot of people.
Warriors of light and characters from The First and The Ninth are welcome, NPC roleplayers can also feel free to stop by as long as it would make sense for them to do so.7. Expect your character to be reacted to appropriately. If your character is unusual for the area (or in general), native Ishgardians are possibly going to have a lot of questions and treat you as an outsider. If your character tells someone they're from another shard or a warrior of light, don't expect everyone to believe you.
If your character is a voidsent or a vampire, why are you at a soup kitchen?8. There is no syncshell, there will never be a syncshell. Use Lightfinder or similar if you'd like to sync with others. If you are using mods that other people can see, please keep them SFW and appropriate. If I see a screenshot of you doing something you shouldn't, roleplayer meet door.9. Please keep the venue uncluttered. Keep OOC chatter to a minimum, put minions away if they aren't there in-character and please hide your weapons.10. Have fun! The rules are easy to follow. Make use of the amenities as you like, lamp if you want to, AFK in the corner for all I care. I truly hope you can enjoy your time here, relax and make some meaningful connections.

IC facilities

The soup kitchen can aid more than an empty stomach. Many people in Ishgard do not have access to basic amneties, several of which are provided right here.Beds
Need somewhere to crash for the night? Ask to rent a bed and Victor will put your name in the book.Storage and Mail
If your character doesn't have a home or address, they may write down the Soup Kitchen's address and can collect their mail here.
Your character can also be provided their own locker to store items if required.Shower and changing room
With no home comes no hot running water and hygeine is a basic human right.
A shower is available to anyone who needs a wash and a change of clothes.Laundry
Drop your dirty clothes in one of two magitek washing machines and hang it outside to dry.
Your clothing can also be washed to pick up the next day.Family
Parents in need are encouraged to take advantage of the baby changing station in the bathroom. Additionally, there is a children's play area upstairs.Education
All of the books on the shelves are free to be read on the premises. There are many educational nonfiction books for adults and children of all ages as well as story books in the play area.
For further learning, there are instructional manuals on several practical hobbies such as gardening, carpentry, basic engineering, knitting and sewing and more.Notice Board
There is a board at the bottom of the stairs where your character can leave notes, requests, advertisements, etc. Any bounties or wanted posters will be taken down.A safe place for everyone
Regardless of your criminal status or occupation, you will not be reported to law enforcement.
The kitchen is a free space to lie low if needed. Whether that be from a bounty on your head or an unsafe situation elsewhere. You're safe here!

Free Supplies

Free items that can be packed into a hamper for you to take from the soup kitchen.
It's rough out there on the streets or on the road.Approach Victor and ask for a Supply Hamper.
You'll be handed this list of supplies to pick and choose from. They'll be picked out from the store room and packed up into a hamper to take to wherever you call home.

Sometimes at venues you can encounter someone you really don't want to get into an RP with, or someone you want to lose the attention of without needing to leave the venue and potentially ruin a fun night with friends in doing so.If you're feeling uncomfortable or need a break from someone, ask Victor for a bowl of Dalamud Stew and we'll roleplay it out and make sure to keep an eye on you and keep you otherwise engaged for as long as you need. No questions asked.In tandem with this, if you notice someone order Dalamud Stew, don't approach them, don't bring attention to it, don't point it out or speculate and don't ask what Dalamud Stew is.However, if you would like to report someone for bad OOC behaviour, please send a /tell and they will be dealt with accordingly. Your safety and comfort is priority.

Secret Menu

Moko brownies
Members of the drug scene may be aware of, or have heard of the most heavenly moko brownies to grace your tongue. They have different toppings for different strengths.Plain brownies: No effect, no moko, but still delicious.Powdered sugar: Just enough to ease anxiety or pain, medicinal rather than recreational. You won't get a high from these, but your nerves and mild pain will be settled for several hours.Chocolate sprinkles: Gives a mellow, very mild high. Relaxing and light. You'll still be able to function perfectly, but feel like you're floating on the softest cloud. A favourite of the owner.Rainbow sprinkles: Still high, but not too high. Expect plenty of giggles, munchies and an all around good time. Great for parties!Rocky road: Enough moko to put you on your ass for at least 6 hours. Use sensibly. Not for beginners!1000 gil per brownie, 10,000 for a full tray. Brownies without moko cost only half as much. (IC roleplayed gil only)

Victor grew up on the streets of The Brume without a home, and doesn't want anyone else to have to do what he did to survive. You'll be well looked-after by this ex-street gang leader.
Also, having taken cooking classes at The Bismarck, your free food is bound to taste great.He built the soup kitchen after recieving hefty donations from The Fury's Flask and The Corsair
He oversees the day to day operations and cooks the food. You'll find him behind the counter or more often simply lounging around the kitchen.

Note: The kitchen is mostly NPC staffed, but if Victor is behind the counter he'll be taking your orders

Starlight at the Brume Soup Kitchen

Some of us are going to be alone on Christmas day, which can really take a toll on your mood. For others, the holidays can remind us of hard times.If you need some company or a distraction, or if you've finished your festivities for the day and feel like doing some RP, come and hang out at the Soup Kitchen and enjoy our Starlight special menu, all day.This is an RP venue, but you're welcome to afk and simply enjoy the atmosphere. Keep OOC chatter in /say to a minimum.

Rumour has it that the ex-criminal proprietor of this soup kitchen offers additonal services.
If you made a mess of someone, he'll clean up your crime scene spic-and-span, for a price."I've spilled my soup" Is the alleged phrase to allow you access to his janitorial business.Alternatively, Victor can make an excellent contact in the criminal underworld. While he's retired many of his old services such as murder, grand theft and jailbreaking, he still retains the skills from his former professions, and makes a valuable asset and ally, if he likes you enough.
